When selecting a bike for riding with your kids, there are several factors to consider and questions to answer. To simplify your decision, let’s break it down:
The Bike Frame
Both our Amsterdam and Jordaan electric bike ranges make excellent family bikes, each offering unique benefits. The Jordaan range features a low step-through frame, making it easy to hop on and off, especially with children onboard. This design enhances safety and comfort, particularly when you need to stop suddenly with the added weight of kids.
If you prefer a step-over frame, the Amsterdam range is a fantastic choice. It combines a sleek, modern look with practicality, providing a stylish yet functional option for family rides.
Child Seat Compatibility
Our Jordaan range can accommodate one or two children, with a maximum load of up to 15 kg. The Jordaan eBike supports a front child seat for kids aged 9 months to 3 years, as well as a rear seat for children up to 6 years old—ideal for taking both kids to school at once!
For the Amsterdam range, both the GTS and Urban models are compatible with a rear child seat when you install our Gen2 rear carrier. These models are not suitable for front child seats.
eBike Gears
Our Urban range features a Shimano 7-speed hub, offering versatility for various terrains. With 7 gear options, you can easily adjust your speed to match different conditions, and the motor is tailored to meet local needs. Whereas our GTS range features the Enviolo stepless gearing, providing smooth shifting from a standstill and seamless transitions between gears, ensuring a worry-free ride.
Double Kickstand and Handlebar Lock
Our eBikes are equipped with a handlebar lock and a double kickstand to keep the bike stable and secure. This feature is especially useful when you need to quickly dismount and ensure your child remains comfortable.
